As a producer of food products most of our waste is food packaging.
All our cardboard, paper, plastic and tin containers are sent for recycling.
Plastic buckets large and small are available free for anyone who can get to our shop to collect them. We would, however, appreciate a donation in one of our charity tubs.
On the rare occasions when new machinery or refrigeration are required we consider the environmental issues before making a purchase.
Our oven is an electric heatstore type. It runs during the night for 8 hours but because it stores the heat in the massively insulated oven walls we are able to keep using the ovens for confectionery items (sponges, cakes etc) for a further 4 to 6 hours.
